long story short…

Malia (Ma-LEE-Uh) strives to understand the world around her through lenses of sustainability, creativity, and critical thinking. Engineering and art combine her passions of thoughtful design and scientific reasoning which enables her to positively affect her community.

long story long…

Malia recently graduated from the University of Miami with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Minor in Art. She gained practical experience through internships at Disney (currently at Disneyland Resort, previously at Walt Disney World), Arthrex Inc. as a Medical Device Test Engineer, and Trane Technologies in Commercial HVAC R&D.

At UMiami, she served as Project Manager for the ASME lunar rover team, leading 25 students, and as ECO Representative Director, managing recycling across 7 residential colleges. She’s proficient in PTC Creo, SolidWorks, COMSOL, MATLAB, and Microsoft Excel.

Her art minor focused on ceramics and sculpture, combining technical knowledge with creative expression. She apprenticed at La Crosse Clay Center, studying glaze chemistry and throwing techniques.

TLDR;

Malia never tires of learning. She believes in the beauty of every day being brand new.

She hopes to one day create a learning and entertainment center that supports healing, community, and curiosity.
